Meet Moe, the frog. Our students will be meeting and learning all about Moe! Our class got new literacy kits, which allow them to access the general education curriculum with modifications. This month, we are working on identifying sight words and pointing to sight words in order to complete sentences.
Hi all! My professional new years resolution is to update this website/blog more often! I have been so bad about it. This February, we have been reading "Hugs from Pearl" by Paul Schmid. This cute book is about a porcupine that loves to give hugs. But her hugs are a little "ouchy" so she has to figure out a way to give her friends nice hugs that aren't! The kids practiced giving nice hugs to their friends in the classroom.
This Friday, we will work on writing our names on Valentine cards and the names of our classmates. Then, we will give one another the cards during our party! Because of the snow days, our Valentine parties got cancelled so we will reschedule for this Friday, February 21st! Our party starts at 3:00 pm and will run to 3:15 pm. Hope you all can come! We had tons of fun on Halloween! We marched in the school-wide parade and then came back to the classroom to do some fun Halloween centers. We made Frankenstein playdoughs, handprint green monsters (we have been reading Go Away Big Green Monster by Ed Emberly to prepare for Halloween) and played in yucky blood (aka red jello), dirt (chocolate pudding) and worms (spaghetti noodles). It was SUPER fun and messy! |
